According to an interview this week with Power106 in LA, Kid Cudi made the announcement on his decision to leave music label G.O.O.D Music.
Kid Cudi also cleared up any future "beef" allegations with him and Kanye along with other former label mates. He assures host Yesi Ortiz that "everything is cool and peace with everyone on the label." Cudi even mentioned the phone conversation he and Kanye held in regards to "wanting to start [his] own direction." He says Kanye gave encouragement and his best advice at the closing of the call.
Furthermore, Cudi received uplifting words and blessings from two of Ye's closest confidants - manger Don C and mentor Jay-Z:
“I went through a process where I talked to Don C and then I went and talked to Jay-Z and got their opinions about how to approach him about things that I wanted to talk to him about, and everybody gave me their blessing."
The former G.O.O.D Music artist states that his mind had been made up about leaving the label as far as 6 months ago, although he didn't reveal his decision until just recently.
The up and coming new album is set for realease April 23rd entitled "Indicud" having recently dropped the latest single "Girls" featuring TOO Short.
