[INTERVIEW] 2Chainz Talks DefJam and Lower Album Sales On Sophomore Album "B.O.A.T.S II: #MeTime"

Last week, Atlanta's hottest rapper 2Chainz dropped his sophomore solo album B.O.A.T.S II: #MeTime.

Apparently, his number in sales were a disappointment missing the projected amount in comparison to his first album hitting 147,000 sales in its first week, where the sophomore album only pushed 64,000 unit during the week of debut.

2Chainz sat down with Power 105's The Breakfast Club last week and discussed the poor promotion of the album and the low first week projections.

While he explained his feelings of still being confident in his sales, he also expressed agreement on DefJam failing to promote the album as best they could have the way they had done for his previous release.

Maybe DefJam felt as though 2Chainz is by now a big enough artist to the public and with the release date approaching, the album could promote itself. Bad assumption and definitely a weak move considering the fact 2Chainz is indeed still new to some people and is still being introduced to newer audiences. Therefore, the promotion for the album should have been in much effect. DefJam also failed to produce a larger amount of units to sell across the nation. Like Angela Yee explained to an extent in the interview, purchasers may not be able to find the album. In addition, some new listeners may not know the difference or recognize the new album from the old one. I mean they both are somewhat similar entailing the double chains while one is black, as far as the cover, and the other white. Easy mistake to make for a new coming fan. Also, being that there were not alot of copies printed up for the release, stores may have run out of the new album fast or may have never gotten the album to begin with. Unfortunately, some new fans may have bought the first album mistaking it for the latest album due to poor promotion.

However, 2Chainz remains positive about the situation, as he should. In fact the album sold 63,000 units (exceeding his own projections) being just enough to land the NO.3 spot on Billboard.

Talk about Beats By Dre huh?....

Last night on part 2 of the reunion of R&B Divas LA, Wendy Williams opened up the question of plastic surgery to the divas. As each one went around saying whether they had or had not gotten any work done, the question then landed on Michel'le where she confessed the reasons for her nose job. She stated having to get work done in order to straighten her nose after being beat by ex boyfriend Dr. Dre. The news shocked everyone on the stage as they listened to Michel'e's testimony with their mouths to the floor.

Looks like all the publicity has back fired forMiley Cyrus after her raunchy VMA performance this year.

Although her scandalous raw "chicken-skin" outfit and infamous twerk session got people talking, it surely did not sit well with Vogue editor-in-chief Miss Anna Wintour as it has costed Miley her cover for the magazine later this year.

According to sources, Anna Wintour was not at all pleased with how Miley would appear on her prestigious magazine cover after viewing her tasteless performance with RobinThicke.

Here's what a source says Anna had to say:

‘Anna found the whole thing distasteful,’ a source says. ‘She decided, based on Miley’s performance, to take the cover in a different direction.’

I am not surprised that Miley got canned. However, I'm actually pleased that her tacky performance is not being praised EVERYWHERE. Somebody has to shut that a** down!

Furthermore, rumor has it that Miley's handsome fiance Liam Hemsworth is cancelling that b*tch like Nino as well and wants a "clean break" from her after finding her performance to be "mortifying".

[VIDEO] DMX Runs Naked Through Hotel Hallways!

Y'all done made him lose his mind..... AGAIN!

DMX has been tied to some serioius incidents in his past whether it be drug abuse, impersonating federal agents, or just simply his OUTRAGEOUS behavior!

TMZ has footage of your boy running NAKED through the hallways of a Detroit hotel last week and according to Mr. Dark Man X, he went on his naked sprint because he "felt like it" and is "not ashamed of anything he's got!"

The actual footage is hilarious but more so laughing AT him than WITH him. It starts off with DMX walking around in only his boxers, socks, and house arrest anklet. Then suddenly you see him duck off in a corner, drops his drawers, and runs out DONG first!

In sick weirdo news, award-winning Fugees' music video director is being sentenced to 90 years in jail for fathering 6 kids by his own daughters.

An award-winning music director found guilty of fathering children with his daughters will spend the rest of his life in jail.

Aswad Ayinde, 55, of Paterson, NJ, was sentenced to 50 years in prison Friday after being found guilty in the second of five expected trials in which he is accused of repeatedly forcing sex with his six daughters, resulting in six children being fathered.

Mr. Ayinde was found guilty in his latest trial of having intercourse with a daughters when she was as young as eight-years-old. The second sentence adds to the 40 year sentence Mr Ayinde received in a 2011 trial for sexually assaulting a separate daughter.

Mr. Ayinde is known for directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 smash hit ‘Killing Me Softly.’

In a disturbing disclosure during his first trial, Mr. Ayinde’s former wife said he was trying to create a ‘pure family bloodline’ by impregnating his daughters. He even claimed during a pre-trial hearing before the first trial that ‘the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen.’

In this latest trial, it was revealed that Mr. Ayinde began having intercourse with his second daughter from the time she eight-years-old, impregnating her four times.

The sexual assaults happened for almost 30 years until Mr. Ayinde and his wife separated, officials said. They occurred in numerous homes across northern New Jersey, even while the family was under watch of state child welfare officials, according to NBC New York.

Some of the attacks even took place in an abandoned funeral home.

The family moving as far away as Florida to avoid investigation after case workers removed multiple children from the Ayinde household in 2000, resulting in Mr. Ayinde being arrested for kidnapping for trying to take them from state custody in a medical center, NBC New York reported.

He pleaded guilty to lesser charges and received a year’s probation – as he continued assaulting one daughter for at least another two years, according to officials.

The depraved father also beat and starved the girls using wooden boards and steel-toed boots for even ‘minor transgressions,’ Ayinde’s wife testified at the first trial.

Some of the children Ayinde fathered with his daughters were born in the home, with at least two babies who died in the home having been buried without notifying authorities or obtaining birth certificates, NBC New York reported.

Mr. Ayinde also fathered 12 additional children with an additional three women, according to court records, Ayinde’s tortured daughters were home schooled and isolated from other children, so as to keep the family secrets hidden, the station added.

With his wife too afraid to confront him, Mr. Ayinde carried out his evil plan without hindrance even while directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 breakout hit ‘Killing Me Softly, for which he won ‘Best R&B Video’ at the 1996 MTV Music Video Awards. The Fugees are also originally from Northern New Jersey.

Mr. Ayinde faces three more trials over the alleged assaults.

There is ABSOLUTELY no justification for this type of shit. That sick bastard is now ruined for the rest of his life, but unfortunately so are those poor girls.

The other day, wacky ass Amanda Bynes was put on a "5150" hospitalized hold for setting a strangers driveway on fire. The poor lady doesn't even know who Amanda Bynes is.

Fleeing the scene, Amanda then dips into a liqour store to try to wash her gasoline soaked dog off in the restroom. Unfortunately for the dog, the owner put them both out. According to TMZ, Amanda will be held for 2 more weeks on her 5150 psychiatric hold so that medical professionals can properly figure out WHAT THE HELL is wrong with her!

Whew! Drake and Chris Brown Dodge Major Nightclub Brawl Lawsuit

As we all can remember, last year Chris Brown and Drake got to throwing liquor bottles at each other in a New York nightclub (W.i.P.) allegedly because Drake felt the need to send over a note to Chris saying he "F****d Rihanna".



Entertainment Enterprises sued the both of them for $16mil, but luckily the lawsuit was disregarded as a New York judge ruled that Drake nor Chris Brown owed any money for any damages that occurred during the brawl.

Tyrese Gets Pissed At Ginuwine For Making "High" Faces During Performance: Tank In Background Laughing!

Now this has got to be the funniest video seen in the past few days. I literally cried laughing!
In a recent performance on CBS's "The Couch", TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine, Tank) put on more of a comedy show than an actual music performance and the video has since gone viral for all the WRONG reasons.

It seems as if Ginuwine is highed up' during the performance as he continuously makes these "tweeky" faces, at one point Tyrese even turns to him as if he wanted to ask "WTF is wrong with you?!"

[DETAILS] KimYe Takes Baby Girl North West On Her 1st Outing

We've all been anticipating baby North's appearance since the little stinker was born about 2 weeks ago. But her parents Kim and Kanye have been extremely low-key with her, as they should be.

Low-key may be an understatement as KimYe managed to take North West on her first outing without those annoying paps surfacing any pics. The new parents celebrated Fourth of July with their bundle of joy with the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner gang out in Malibu at Bruce's beach house, as this is the first reported outing since North's birth.

(Jaden Smith joined the fam as this is reportedly who baby sister Kylie Jenner is dating)

However according to a source, this was not her first official outing as they've told US mag:

"Kim has taken North on a few playdates, but she can't do it with lots of people since she's still so small,"

They're also saying that Kanye is ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with his baby girl! However, Ye is just not into the whole diaper changing thing:

"He's not changing diapers," the insider said.

Awwwww!! But he's making up for his daddy duties in other ways!

"He doesn't leave North for more than an hour," one source said of the new dad. Another said, "Kanye holds the baby all the time." For the up and coming compilation album, T.I. confirms in an interview with VladTV.com that the North Memphis "Tenn-a-Key" emcee Yo Gotti has signed with the label and will be joining Hustle Gang.

T.I. also revealed other artists he's looking to sign such as Brooklyn rapper Uncle Murda and Manio.

Aside from T.I. and now Yo Gotti, the Hustle Gang roster for the album includes Killer Mike, Trae the Truth, Travi$ Scott, B.O.B, and more.

[DETAILS] Lil Snupe's Murder Suspect Turns Himself In

As you know, last week rapper Lil Snupe (Addarren Ross) died after being  shot twice in the chest over a bet stemming from a video game.

Lil Snupe was signed to MMG rapper Meek Mill's Dream Chaser Records and the youngin was definitely on his way to stardom. He was also very respected as a young lyricists by quite a few big hip-hop names today.



Tony D. Holden, the man accused of killing Lil Snupe, turned himself in yesterday (Wednesday) morning at about 10am to the Winnfield Police Dept.

(That was his best bet I'm SURE)

The 36 year old bitch was arrested and booked in Winnfield City jail on 1st degree murder, armed robbery, and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Holden has also had past offenses related to rape, kidnapping, and batter.

Smh ...

Lil Snupe will be laid to rest this coming Saturday morning at Jonesboro-Hodge High School in LA where his service will also be held.

This case is just extremely heartbreaking and equally nugatory as this 18-year TALENTED boy now has his life taken away over something as small as a video game bet. It's time we begin to take life a lot EASIER instead of so serious because we end up getting worthless results such as this.

[DETAILS] Tupac's Music Set For Broadway Play

Tupac in a Broadway musical! Well kind of ...

 

 

According to Rolling Stone, the late great rapper's songs are set to be featured in an upcoming Broadway musical titled  Holler If Ya Hear Me.

 

The musical is based on two childhood friends in a fictional Midwestern industrial city setting who are in conflict with struggle, trying to make their dreams a reality.

 

 

Director Kenny Leon whose credits tie to Raisin In The Sun and Fences told Broadway.com:

 

"Tupac was a prophet and I want everyone to see that. [Holler if Ya Hear Me] is a present-day musical using all of Tupac's music, but Tupac is not a character in the musical."

 

To make it all the more interesting, Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur will be in production of the play which is currently in the works set to premeire this 2013-14 Broadway season.

Numbers For J. Cole's Born Sinner & Kanye's Yeezus

And the numbers are in !

The album sales race between Kanye West's Yeezus and J. Cole's Born Sinner came down close to the wire. With J. Cole's album projected to win hip-hop's June 18th battle due to new favortism via social media, Kanye's final numbers tallied up to 328,800 units sold on his sixth album, besting Cole's sophmore project which moved 297,922 units.

With Ye's album leaking just shy of a few days before it hit the stores and Cole's latest leaking more than a week before his official date, I'm pretty sure this might have decreased his numbers on the 18th.

During his visit to RapFix live, J. Cole had this to say:

"I could've left it right where I was and just gone head-to-head with Wale and seen what happened there. I would've had a much better chance, but it wasn't about the sales.

That would be a nice bonus, but it's more about the statement, [and putting] my name in the conversation. I'ma throw my name in the hat.

This is art, and I can't compete against the Kanye West celebrity and the status that he's earned just from being a genius. But I can put my name in the hat and tell you that I think my album is great and you be the judge and you decide."

Even though Cole's album was moved up a week to compete with Kanye and he ended up coming in 2nd, he still made some major gains with a 26% increase in his sales over the sales off his first album Cole World: The Sideline Story.

On the other hand, Kanye fell short of his projected 360-380K units, marking his lowest first-week sales performance since his 2004 album The College Dropout which was his all time lowest moving 441,000 units. However, Ye' still landed his fifth No.1 album on the Billboard 200.

Both albums are of course in heavy rotation on play lists today and are receiving great reviews from the streets. In my opinion the great reviews are similar but vary in style of course with Kanye's dubbed as "GothHop" with much controversial curves thrown and him pretty much saying whatever the fuck he wants. J. Cole's album is much more of a "verbal powerhouse" with a lot of self-emptying and truth telling.

 Nicki must have had a few of them as she becomes extra giggly clowning with Wale and Juicy J, she even gets to twerking on set and in the video!

Tupac Shakur Earns His Star On The Walk of Fame

Yes finally, Tupac officially gets his stamp! Earning his own Walk of Fame star in Hollywood as the fourth rapper in history plated.

Due to a petition that earned well of 31,000 signatures, the legendary Tupac Shakur will have his star next year (2014) alongside  Sally Field, Orlando Bloom and Liam Neeson, according to NewsOne.

This is really a HUGE moment in Hip-Hop as this has been a discussion and a want for all of Pac's fans since his death. Now Tupac will definitely long live the streets of Cali as he continues to be a legend of our music.

[UPDATE] Chris Brown FALSELY Accused of Assaulting A Girl In Nightclub

*Update* See! I knew something sounded fishy about this story.

Now according to the owner of the nightclub where Chris had been accused, Deanna Gines is full of SH!T !

Here's the updated report from that night:

Chris Brown’s female accuser is full of it … so says the owner of the nightclub where the singer allegedly assaulted the woman — in fact, the owner tells TMZ, CB never even touched her.

The owner of Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim tells us, “Based on the information which we have gathered from our security company, mall security, and other party goers which were at HEAT on Saturday night; It is apparent that the alleged incident regarding Chris Brown is false.”

The owner says 24-year-old Deanna Gines had repeatedly tried to jump on stage during Chris’ performance at the club — and later tried to rush Chris in his roped-off VIP area.

The owner says Gines got tossed as a result of her behavior — and while being taken out, the owner says Gines took off her heels and threw them at security.

The owner says police were called to arrest Gines, but eventually let her go home with her friends.

As for any potential injuries Gines may have suffered while being kicked out, the owner simply said, “Heat staff and security did what they had to do … [Chris] was a complete gentleman.”

This is a case of "When Ratchet B!tches Attack" !

She tried to get a quick payday, but really how far did she think her LYING ASS would go with this story??

Exclusively reported, Chris Brown has been ACCUSED of badly injuring 24-year old Deanna Gines in a club out in Orange County this past weekend.

(Really Chris...Really?)

According to TMZ, Deanna Gines tells them she was in the VIP section with Chris Brown at club called Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim - where he had just performed.

Deanna Gines claims that when the bar was closing, Chris pushed her to the floor in such a vigorous way that she fellhard on her knees.

(Something don't sound right...)

Anywho! When Deanna went to the hospital, doctors told her she had torn ligaments in her right knee and that she may have to undergo surgery.


Yikes!

 Deanna Gines filed a police report and a rep for the Anaheim PD confirmed a report of a female filing for assault inside of a club but WOULD NOT disclose any names.

Chris Brown's rep, Nicole Perna, tells TMZ:

"I'm unaware of the incident, as is Chris' lawyer and his entire team.  He was in a great mood after Powerhouse. None of this makes sense."

More to come of this story for sure! However, I'm really hoping there's a FULL answer to this story because boy if this happens to be true, it might be over for ya boy Breezy.

[DETAILS] Kim Popped Out North West, But Did Kanye POP The Question ?!

Seems as if Kim is finally getting that happy ending she always wanted!



After Kim popped baby girl North West out, daddy Kanye West just might have POPPED the question and blessed Kim with a ring.

According to sources, Kanye is rumored to have asked the reality TV Queen to marry him, by giving her a "push present" - a gift the father gives to the mother either before or after birth IN the delivery room.

Apparently, the gift was a unique black and tiger-striped diamond ring and reportedly the two are planning for a September wedding in Paris!

The two spent days inside the Cedars Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills after Kim gave birth to their daughter and Kanye is said to have made all sorts of arrangements for Kim and North to get comfy. These arrangements included hiring a personal labor coach and spending thousands on treatment at the hospital.

A source has told that:

"Kanye wasted no money in making sure Kim had the best of everything while she's in hospital.

"He has spent half a million on a ring as a push present and had it designed months ago in preparation.

"He's even more in love with her now than ever and they can't wait to get married."

Of course since we haven't heard from them publicly with their OWn mouths to confirm their baby's birth, they definitly haven't come out to confirm the "push present" either just yet. I'm sure you all are definitely anticipating either or both.

@Drake Announces New Tour PLUS Covers GQ Mag Saying Chris Brown Sit Down 'Will Never Happen'

Drizzy Drake has announced the 41 dates across the North American map of his "Would You Like A Tour" arena tour.

The tour will be in support of his 3rd album Nothing Was The Same, bringing on two other hot names in music, R&B singer Miguel and Future.

(Now THAT sounds like a dope tour!)

Trekking cities like Chicago, Philly, New Orleans, Phoenix, Vegas, and of course Drake's home place Canada (Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg), the tour is set to kick off in Portland, Oregon on September 25th and will end right around the holidays on November 25th in LA.

In further news for the Toronto rapper, he graces the cover of GQ magazine for the second time since his first on the April 2012 issue. Drake is featured on the cover of the men's fashion magazine's July issue, looking 'rapper chic', in which he discusses the new album and some of the ill misconceptions that constantly try to dog him.



Welp! There isn't much dogging to do besides that DaDa fit  as Drizzy kicks off the article with a brain refresher of once telling us all he would be "25 sittin' on 25 mill". Now at 26, with a net worth of an estimated cool $30mil, it's no wonder Drake does not mind the critics and haters, he welcomes them.

During the interview with GQ mag, Drake discussed his hopes for one day he and Chris Brown being able to diffuse their differences with a peaceful conversation. Of course Drake's calm and some-what sensitive demeanor would want for such a thing to happen, however he expresses the reality of the sit down "not ever going to happen."

While the two remain unsettled amongst each other, Drake wishes to overcome the feud saying how he doesn't want his name "to be synonymous with that guy's name."

@RickyRozay Kicks It With Chelsea Clinton at John Legend Hope For Children Gala

Rick Ross showed up nicely suited in black for Jonh Legend's Hope For Children Gala sponsored by Samsung, taking place at Cipriani's in New York yesterday.

Rozay snapped a pic with Chelsea Clinton at the black tie affair and captioned "Boss and Chelsea Clinton... Politics as Usual!!!"

(I see you trying to get the 'clean cut' image popping off Rozay...Nice move! )

Ross missed Game 3 of the NBA Finals, but showed much love for John Legend at his event by tweeting:

 John Legend's Show Me Campaign incorporates education in an attempt to stop the cycle of poverty. Jonh attended the gala with his gorgeous fiance Chrissy Teigen and performed along with his artist Estelle.
